NONE of Our Products Are Involved in the Current Peanut Butter Recall!
We share your concern about the current recall on some brands of Peanut Butter due to possible contamination with salmonella.
In order to assure that our products are safe, we have double-checked our stock of peanut butter, and our Executive Vice President contacted the manufacturer to determine if there might be any problem.
We are pleased to report to you, our valued customers, that for the last two years, we have used and continue to use only Garden ClubŪ Creamy Peanut Butter in our products. This brand is manufactured exclusively by Clement Foods, only from their own stock, and in their own plant. They have assured us that it is not involved in the current recall, and no problems have been reported with the ingredients produced by Clement Foods.
Our Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake is decorated only with Reese's Chopped Peanut Butter Cups. This brand is owned by Hershey's, which released a statement on January 17, advising consumers that none of their products are assosciated with this current recall. Toward the bottom of this page, there is a link that will take you to their press release.
We will, of course, continue to monitor the situation. We carefully check vendors and product specifications before selecting a new source for any supplies. We require that ingredient and packaging manufacturers meet specific criteria that help us to ensure the safety of all our products. Third party auditing firms, such as AIB, assist us in making sure our procedures are in place and working properly to assure your safety.
